Whatever your project, completed or yet to be built, there is a MIPIM Awards category that is right for you!
BEST CONVERSION PROJECT
This category is dedicated to the successful activation and upgrading of existing assets to create a more useful, relevant, and ESG-aligned project serving business and the community. Winning projects will consider the obsolescence of previous use cases and the fresh provision of spaces, services and amenities that better fulfil the needs of the location and community. A holistic approach to ESG matters is key.

BEST CULTURAL, SPORTS AND EDUCATION PROJECT
This category honours buildings, structures and places where culture, arts and sports are performed, experienced and showcased, such as museums, theatres, libraries, music venues, historic cultural sites and stadiums. It also includes educational buildings or structures which are making a stand-out contribution to society. Winning projects will be those that aim to support the quality of life of a city or a neighbourhood, while reinforcing vibrant communities and cultures through creating a social impact.

BEST HOSPITALITY, TOURISM AND LEISURE PROJECT
This award honours the most unique hospitality, tourism and leisure projects around, with a strong focus on their long-term sustainability and how they enrich the local community. Consideration will be given to each project’s architecture, facilities and location, while also considering client well-being, guest and community services, use of technology and overall ESG-alignment.

BEST INDUSTRIAL & LOGISTICS PROJECT
This category recognises industrial buildings, distribution facilities and data centers capable of hosting modern and innovative businesses in an outstanding and sustainable way. Projects may range from manufacturing to logistics and e-commerce warehouses, incorporating the latest technologies where appropriate and paying attention to the needs of their end-users.

BEST MIXED-USE PROJECT
This category recognises single buildings or groups of buildings that blend at least two different uses (residential, commercial, cultural, infrastructure etc.) and are physically and functionally integrated. Attention will be given to the project’s originality in terms of architecture, facilities and end-user well-being, as well as its use of technology. The overall sustainability and ESG-alignment of the project remains key.

BEST RESIDENTIAL PROJECT
This category celebrates new developments that provide the best housing opportunities, while featuring original aesthetics and fulfilling a social purpose. Its integrated urban design and smart-site planning will be taken into consideration, to help judge how the residential project serves the wider community and surrounding neighbourhood.

BEST URBAN REGENERATION PROJECT
By 2050, the world will have 9.7 billion inhabitants, of whom 70% will live in urban areas, according to the United Nations. This freshly-updated category will honour urban regeneration projects which enhance the built environment and the communities they serve.Projects will be considered that include or contribute to the physical and economic revitalisation of an area or a town. Heritage preservation, benefits for the location, sustainability, access and integration of the project in its environment will all be evaluated.
At least one phase of the project or the whole project must have been completed in 2024.
BEST URBAN VISION
This category challenges architecture schools to explore and reinvent the future of real estate. Students are invited to think beyond traditional boundaries and present the concept of a future project that seeks to go beyond frameworks and paradigms. Projects will be considered that present innovative and practical solutions.
The project can be a building, a site or an infrastructure element in any type of sector or geographical area.
The project must present innovative and realistic solutions.
It cannot be an existing project, completed or under construction.
Students wishing to enter in this category, will benefit from free entry fee.
BEST WORKPLACE EXPERIENCE
This category rewards newly constructed office buildings and business parks that offer owners and users increased worker satisfaction and productivity, improved health, greater flexibility and enhanced energy and environmental performance. Through an integrated design, the focus must be on the ability to fully accommodate the specific resources and requirements of the tenant.

BEST NEW DEVELOPMENT
This category is dedicated to any type of building and development that is already in progress or slated to begin construction soon, which demonstrates a holistic commitment to sustainability through its distinct architectural, technical and environmental qualities.
Construction starting in 2023-2025. Planning approval is required.
